Trying it without an account

You can open a whole planner without signing up: press Try without account on the sign-up or sign-in screen and start writing. It is kept in that browser, nothing is sent anywhere, and making an account later carries everything in.

In short
  1. StartTry without account, under the sign-in buttons.
  2. Use itThe whole planner. Nothing is a preview and nothing expires.
  3. Keep itCreate an account, then Move it in when you are asked.
  4. Or end itLeave guest mode, in the account menu. That deletes it.

Starting one

  1. Go to the sign-up or the sign-in screen.
  2. Press Try without account, under the sign-in buttons.
  3. You land on this week, with a few rows already written and the starter categories and habits offered as drafts.

It is the real planner

Every view, every tracker, the journal and the themes. Nothing is a demo, nothing counts down, and what you write is really written.

Two things it cannot do, and both need an account rather than a payment: it does not sync to another device, and Planye+ is not available, because a subscription has to belong to somebody.

Where it lives

In this browser, on this machine, and nowhere else. It never reaches our servers, which is also the risk worth knowing about: clearing your browsing data, or using a private window, takes the planner with it.

The spine says so where an account would show an email address: Not saved to an account, and Kept in this browser under it.

Keeping it

Press Create an account anywhere it is offered and sign up with two fields. The next time your planner opens you are asked one question (this browser is keeping a planner that is not on this account), with Move it in and Leave it out.

  • Move it in moves everything you wrote into the account. Nothing an existing account already held is overwritten.
  • Leave it out keeps the two apart. The guest planner stays in the browser and opens again if you sign out.

You are asked the same question whether you signed up or signed in to an account you already had.

Ending it without an account

Leave guest mode, in the account menu, deletes the planner from this browser. It asks first, and offers to make an account instead, because an account would have kept everything you wrote.

There is nothing to sign back into

This is not signing out. A guest planner exists only in the browser holding it, so leaving deletes it, and nothing can bring it back.

Questions about trying it

The details, for when you want them. Nothing here is required reading.
6 ·
How long do I get?

There is no clock on it. It is not a trial: it is the planner, kept in your browser, for as long as that browser keeps it.

If I sign up, do I lose what I wrote?

No, as long as you answer Move it in when you are asked. Everything comes across, and an account you already had keeps everything it already held.

Can I open my guest planner on my phone?

No. It lives in one browser, and there is no account for a second device to sign into. That is the main thing an account adds.

Can you read what I write as a guest?

No, and not because we choose not to: nothing about a guest planner leaves your machine. There is no request to read. See Privacy and your data.

Can I add photos to a guest journal?

Yes. They stay on your machine like everything else and count against the same 500 MB the free plan has, so the number you see now is the one you will bring with you.

I cannot find Try without account.

It is on the sign-up and sign-in screens rather than the landing page. If you are already signed in you will not see it, because you already have a planner.
